Do you do it just for the money or were there other reasons?

When you're talking to the "customers", are you truthful about things in your life (such as school, hobbies, etc) or is it all made up stories?

Do you ever feel a personal connection toward the "customers" or are you just going through the motions? Do you actually care about them enjoying what you do or is it just about getting their money?

Do you ever get offended or hurt when "customers" treat you like "objects"?

Do you ever notice and/or appreciate when "customers" treat you like a person? Do you see it as sincerity or just trying to get something out of you?

Are you ever aroused or turned on by what you do?

Have you (or would you) ever dated someone you met as a "customer" at work?

How do you react when/if a "customer" recognizes you in the real world? Would you want them to even acknowledge where they've seen you?

Just some things I'm curious about; I appreciate any honest answers.

Do you do it just for the money or were there other reasons? Money. I was 19, hanging around a crowd where there were many older women (older meaning like 24) who were stripping and we perceived them as glamorous with BMWs, designer clothes, diamonds, etc. I told myself, why work at Blockbuster when I could do this?

When you're talking to the "customers", are you truthful about things in your life (such as school, hobbies, etc) or is it all made up stories? I was honest. I told them about college, my boyfriend at the time, my dreams, aspirations, etc. I was well-respected by the men there. I worked in Detroit so there were many men who were affiliated with drugs and gangs. The hoodrat, skanks who prostituted themselves afterhours etc. were always treated different than me. I was never disrespected or propositioned in any way.

Do you ever feel a personal connection toward the "customers" or are you just going through the motions? Do you actually care about them enjoying what you do or is it just about getting their money? For me, I established respectable relationships with them. They would come in and I would go hang out, talk about things, after a while, I would dance a few songs, sit back down and talk. I'm sure they liked what I was doing. As for personal connections, there was only one. He was a high-status man in Detroit who had a thing for me. He was really intelligent but affiliated and he looked out for me while I was there. There was also this man who looked after me and gave me a 380 to protect myself because I was out late with large sums of money. I ended up getting pulled over with the gun in the car and that was a nightmare.

Do you ever get offended or hurt when "customers" treat you like "objects"? Not really. It's a job. The girls look at it as providing a service. We are sexual objects, whether or not we want to admit it. I knew that going in.

Do you ever notice and/or appreciate when "customers" treat you like a person? Do you see it as sincerity or just trying to get something out of you? For the most part, I think they saw I was different from the hoodrats, however, I'm sure they would have took me to the hotel at the drop of a dime as well.

Are you ever aroused or turned on by what you do? No.

Have you (or would you) ever dated someone you met as a "customer" at work? If I had met my husband there, yes. Back then, it wasn't an issue because I had a boyfriend the entire time.

How do you react when/if a "customer" recognizes you in the real world? Would you want them to even acknowledge where they've seen you? There's a man right here in my building who used to frequent the club and he actually wanted to date me. When I saw him, he acted like he didn't know me at all. Ironically, about two weeks ago, he says..."Isn't your name..." I said yes, you're such and such. How's things..blah blah..yea things are a lot different nowadays..blah blah...glad to see you're doing good. etc etc. Like I said, I was always well-respected.

Why would you think that we are not? Why would anyone think that "Strippers, Dancers or Entertainers" are not human beings? With real emotions and feelings? If you were at work and someone struck up conversation with you , would you be honest? Would you just treat them as a customer? If they were mean to you or said something hurtful or offensive would you be offended? Do you get Aroused or Turned on at work? Isn't it usually any company policy not to date within the office personnel? well same goes in the clubs?
