I wish they would. The exchange rate between the dollar and the euro may be terrible, but it's not HALF as bad as the exchange rate between the dollar and the pound.

Romulan (2 posts above) nailed it down.
Britain has no choice and will enevitaly join the EU.

The Euro - is part of a larger plan towards uniting the world with 1 currency.

Currently, most North Americans are unaware of the 2008 North American Union, signed back in 2005 by George W Bush, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, and the Mexican president.
The plan virtuously eliminates our borders and wipes out our currency - creating a new monetary system called (get ready for this)

"THE AMERO"

Most are unaware that "centralizing" monetary / political / legal systems serve to give leaders more power by forcing society to adhere to 1 stricter set of rules encompassing the differing laws from each country. This applies in most social circles: The larger the group - the more laws are used to control them, because the excuse that "more conflict ensues" is used. Uniting Currency and removal of trade barriers are just the first step.

Eventually - Britain will join the Union - because it has already been decided the world will first be divided into 4 large trading blocks (North and South America) / (China / Asia) etc.

95% of the media in America is now owned by 6 companies, part of the group of ultra-rich that will exclusively benifit from this future plan. This was only discussed and adamately opposed by CNN's Lou Dobbs prior to getting the axe from future media airings.

Bottom line: Britain will Join the Union, 4 large world currency blocks will follow, then each of those blocks will succumb to 1 set of laws, 1 president, and so forth.

Eventually, all 4 blocks will combine into 1, for a united world government (or as GHB said, a new world order) - with 2 classes - Ultra rich, and poor.

Yes, because it's easier for them to travel using one currency.

I'm used to different currencies in different countries, but most British people I've met have huge problems understanding why not everyone can change Sterling for them. They typically choose to holiday in countries like Cyprus & Malta who accept Sterling, but when those begin using the Euro (first thing next year), I really think British people will decide that life's less confusing if they can get used to it at home!

Yes, those silly Brits will adopt the [Euro] and they will love it, or else.
