Do you mean your local fire station is being uncooperative
with your request? I've only had to ask them once for helping
a Camp Fire Girls group with a demonstration or two and
they were very accomodating.
I'd go to another one, if need be and talk to their captain
and plead your case. Otherwise, go to city hall and talk to
someone that could point you in the right direction for a
talk on safety and fire hazards. Being they are paid by the
city, and city taxes pay their salaries, I can't imagine why
they wouldn't be hospitable.
So if you are going to the main fire dept. offices, forget
them, and try the individual fire station captains and see if
he's more sympathetic.
Good Luck!

I dont know about Kansas City, but in California, our firefighters are very helpful and go out to senior centers all of the time to give talks. Try calling the closest fire station and ask to speak to the chief. He'll be able to direct you to the Public Relations officer who should be in charge of that sort of thing. Good luck, they're absolutely wonderful.

fairly, maximum are particularly good, if no longer outstanding chefs. all of them take turns with meal coaching on the Firehouse on an identical time as they are on shift. in the event that they could't cook dinner, they learn, or go through the implications of having to freshen up until eventually they do. And, there are annual Chili cook dinner-offs and all sorts of off-accountability cooking competitions, in many situations situations with Police Departments. And as properly, they understand a thank you to place out the fires interior the kitchen whilst they ensue. I run into out close by Firefighters on the food market for all time. And whilst they have time, we communicate recipes.

The answers given are good ones. It would be my suggestion that if you have been turned down by your Firefighters, that you go for the throat, call the Mayor's Office. If the Mayor has any respect for your Senior Community, and of course, wants your vote next election, He/She will take care of you.

If the aforementioned doesn't come through, Fire departments are in districts. If your local district won't come, go to the next district. There is always someone willing to take on job.

call the local firehouse and ask for the captain, that is how I set it up when I worked at an assisted living facility. They were glad to come and talk.
