Now, I am looking for a new job & will probably take a few months before I find something good. In the meantime, I am at a job I hate - it's boring, my boss is a moron, the rest of the people are all boring, & the company is going nowhere fast. In fact, I'm hoping it closes & they lay me off.

My real question is how do I make it through each day? I dread coming to work each day. I have nothing to look forward with this job.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

It's hard to say, since you give no indication of what the job actually IS.

One thing is to try to make a game of the job itself: to try to everything both perfectly, and at maximum efficiency.

Or predict how long each ing will take, then see if your predictions are right.

If it doesn't require any concentration, daydream, have your favorite muscis running in your head, or make plans for the future.

If it's possible to converse while working, try intruducing interesting topics to talk about -- those coworkers may not be as boring as you think.

Do something really pleasant for lunch each day.

As I say, without knowing any details, it's hard to come up with relevant, specific advice.

Hey Waterilly, I feel your pain. I used to have jobs like that until I got laid off so it's was God sent. And then I ended up with other boring jobs then I got fired because I wasn't catching up with the training. So overall, I'm happy I got laid off and fired. It's was a blessing in disguise. You really have to find what you love to do otherwise it's not good for your mind and physically as well. Do you look at the clock every time you're at work and hope it's time to get off? I did that always. Well, for me I found that the only job I can enjoy is not being at an office 8 to 6 type. I now am a outside sales rep and making my own time. Of course there are pluses and minuses with this job also. But I love the fact that I can do what I want and take breaks whenever I want. So if you ask me you're not alone. Are u still going to school? Are you living with your parents? If so start looking for other jobs and don't ever ever bad mouth this job when being interviewed. Just tell them you are looking to grow and change because you feel that this company is not growing for you. If you want more advice write me back by contacting me with email.

first of all, try to have some music on! I think u can feel better just by listening some music, I'm in the same condition as u, I try to have something to do all the time, answering personal mail once in a while, searching on the web for something u like between office work, that way ur boss won't mess with u and u'll get entertained

I feel you one hundred percent. Answering questions fills about 30 minutes of the day.

The rest of the time, I use the computer to research things.

Myspace, Yahoo, check the atlantic weather at weather.com, go to Amazon.com and look at the new books that I wont buy anytime in the near future.

Sometimes I take an extra long bathroom break and sit and ponder. lol

It is frustrating--- but maybe work on your resume too!

1. Scan itunes for new music and videos.
2. Hang out on Yahoo answers all day and post annoying questions.
3. Call all of your friends that you forget to call on a normal basis.
4. If you have your own office, take a nap on a yoga mat.
5. Search Wikipedia or learn new words on Webster's online.

Grocery lists, paying bills online, Googling everything and anything. But, the best would be to spend more time searching for a job you like. Time is too valuable to squander with a crappy job!
