3% hydrogen peroxide will get the blood out without damaging your upholstery. Since it changes to water when it comes into contacted with air, you will not need to rinse. If the stain is set in, then you might want to let peroxide sit on it for upto an hour.
Good Luck!

Hydrogen peroxide is usually a sturdy element to attempt and use bc it wont harm the fabric/carpet/upholstery. Its no longer sure to get the blood out in keeping with how long this is been there regardless of the undeniable fact that this is going to help!

Fresh stain, 6% peroxide with corn startch, it makes a paste, but you put the startch first, a quarter of an inch , then add you peroxide 1/4 of a tsp. You'll see the blood coming through.

Whew, glad you clarified. I thought there was something more sinister going on. Poor pup, that must hurt.

Best thing to remove blood stains is a paste of oxygen bleach (OxyClean or similar) with cold water and scrub with a brush. Let it sit a while and then spray with water and scrub again. Let dry and vacuum. Repeat if necessary.

Do this asap. Old stains are much harder to get out.

Your poor puppy! Ouch! I hope she bit the person who cut her nails too short!

Steam clean or a foaming rug cleaner - use a solvent before though to break up the proteins. Just look on the label to see if it cleans blood.

Good luck!

1:10 bleach/water...don't worry it won't take the color out. I work @ a clinic & this is what we use for blood spills. I've also heard Peroxide works well.
