The dramtic and inspiring true story of runner Wilma Rudolph, who overcame incredible odds to become one of the worlds finest athletes. Before Wilma was 5 yrs old, polio had paralyzed her left leg. Everyone said she would never walk again. But Wilma refused to believe it. Not only would she walk again, she vowed, she'd run. It was hard work, but at last she did run- all the way to the Olympics, where she became the first American woman to earn 3 gold medals in a single Olympics.

Being a Clarksville, TN native (Rudolph's birthplace), I'm going to say it's a great idea. She truly beat the odds and it's a wonderful story that should be told and retold. She is very memorialized here in Tennessee.

They made a movie about her years ago. A bronze medal at the 1956 Melbourne Summer Olympics 4 x 400m relay. She also won gold medals in the 1960 Rome Summer Olympics; 100m, 200m sprints as well as a 4 x 100m relay.

I am familiar with her. Unfortunately, Hollywood would rather do YET another remake or a teen comedy than do something original.
