I'm sure they are more ready than they were for Katrina.
I personally am more concerned about Tropical Depression 8.

I'm a little bit ready, but I don't foresee it as doing much. However, I know we shouldn't let our guards down just yet. This is reminiscent to Tropical Storm Allison in 2001. I live in Houston, and I've seen the outcome of that storm, a slow moving storm that stalled right on top of us. Not to mention Allison formed almost overnight. Humberto did the same thing, but do I see Humberto being another Allison? Probably not, but you never know.
The time to prepare is now however. We really did not get much time, as it just formed like an hour ago and it is expected to hit overnight, so I would imagine that stores are going to be packed right about now. I'll be prepared though if the worst happens.

Not much of a surprise. Forecasters have been eye-balling that area for several days. Only started showing a little circulation last night.
Well it is too close to shore and will have little time to strengthen as it drifts north into the Houston area late tonight and then curve northeast towards northern Louisiana. Winds should be not too much of a concern. What will be more troublesome is the potential for very heavy rain in a narrow track. That will likely be the most damaging factor with this storm.
I agree with doublewide mama, I am much more concerned with T.D. # 8. That has the potential to be a very destructive tropical cyclone.

There's nothing to worry about. It's just a Tropical Storm with winds of 45 m.p.h. and it's moving north and it's right off the Texas Coast so it'll make landfall before it has time to strengthen. I'm more worried about Tropical Depression 8 strengthening into Hurricane Ingrid and making landfall on Long Island,NY since that's where I live and we're at a high risk for a major hurricane.

That one probably won't be that bad since it will be over before it really begins.
There is a Tropical Depression Eight, that looks like its pointed towards Florida. Of course it will change course, but this will probably be another Hurricane in a few days.

You mean Hurricane Humberto, is became a hurricane overnight and is expected to be in Texas anytime. If you live in Southeast Texas you are now under a hurrican warning.

Wow. I don't think so. The Atlantic is brewing up some category 5's again. It's utterly crazy! I hope that does not happen to US this year again. If you live in that region of the US please be safe and EVACUATE!!
