big bucks, boring the cylinders are part of a complete overhaul.

You aren't going to bore the pistons, you are going to bore the block. The machine shop will charge you for each pass, so the larger the bore you are going over, then the more charges you will have. The pistons will have to be replaced with larger sized ones, same with the rings.

Are you planning on taking the engine out of the car and removing the pistons and just taking the bare block in?

Call a local automotive machine shop and ask them about the charges and the total cost of the work that you want done.
That would be better than asking here.
good luck.

Hi

That depends on the engine! Basically, the sump and cylinder head have to be removed to allow access to and removal of the pistons and con rods through the top of the engine.

After the rebore, you could possibly need to fit oversized pistons and rings to make up for the extent of the rebore.

Its a VERY expensive and labour intensive job which will run into hundreds of pounds.

Best regards

Contact a local engine machine shop and ask them. There is no set price nationwide for it.
