Yes, people are, in fact, THAT stupid. It's like those warnings on shampoo bottles that say FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Like, who's going to chug a bottle of Pantene and think it will make their hair clean and silky?

It's to cover their asses from lawsuits. Everyone is suing everyone for everything nowadays. Look at the coffee cups from any take-out place, they all say "Warning-Contents Hot", if these companies don't put warnings, even obvious ones on their products, there will always be someone out there just waiting to file a lawsuit. Look at the people trying to sue McDonald's because they're fat ! Nobody wants to take the blame for their own mistakes, so if they can blame someone else for their stupidity, they will jump at the chance. Companies get sued every day by people with some of the most ridiculous claims, which wastes the company's and the court's time.

Yeah, some people are really that stupid.
The same reason that a hair dryer has warning- Do not submerge in water or use in the shower- Risk of electrical shock.
I guess if they didn't put those dumb warnings on there some idiot would get hurt and sue the manufacturer for millions and win.

Yes people are.
But they have to put that warning on it because some people think they'll take a few hours to kick in and then carry on driving or whatever they need to do.
Same with any warning like the one on beer "pregnant people should not drink" It's obvious but some people still do it.
So pretty much everything must come with a warning or people start to sue.
Condoms have warnings that STDs and Pregnancy can occur because one company was sued.

Yes, actually. You know someone down the line had to file a complaint about sleeping pills making them tired.
Kinda like how that old woman sued McDonalds because her coffee was hot.
