yes! a very strong possibility! if you want these collectibles to stay nice, keep them in a climate-controlled environment. use care when you pack them away, also. don't use newspaper or grocery bags, use bubble wrap and plastic baggies. pack them securely in boxes and mark them clearly as collectibles that should be moved with caution.

My MIL had stored all my husband's childhood toys in the attic for a few decades ~ needless to say, they weren't in the greatest condition when they came out.
Of course, there's the issue with heat warping and fading the plastics. We also discovered that many of the components had also dried out, and the cold winter temps caused many of the plastic parts to turn brittle. Fabric parts rotted, paper crinkled up, etc. and so forth. Things like Creepy Crawler ovens, Print-O-Matics and Navy GI Joe's inflatable life raft that had all worked when put into storage back then, were now no longer working :(.
For things to last, they need to be in a climate and moisture controlled environment ~ and attics or a damp basement is about the last place you'd want to store valuable, collectible toys.

It all depends on the temperature of the attic you are going to place the toys in. I have noticed that heat will soften the material of the plastic and if in a box it will make the paint stick onto the cardboard. I had a 12" Hulk Movie Collectible in my attic and it became really soft because of the temperature and became disfigured. Basically, the heat ruined the figure. When it got hot enough the paint on the figure became pliant and stuck on the cardboard.
My advice would be to keep them in a controlled atmosphere, possibly a closet. If possible, in a large box where all your figures can be placed neatly. Try not to have them put in a place where it is too hot.
