I don't see anything wrong with it. My first child used to sleep in his swing for hours, becuase it was the only way he would sleep at night when he was a newborn. He is a great sleeper now. He was sleeping through the night at about 10 weeks old. Bottom line, you have to be the judge. Everybody will have advice for you so get used to it :) Good luck!

I think it is totally fine as well. My baby has slept in her swing several nights from shortly after we brought her home. We didnt have her crib put together at first, so this is what we used cause we could get it in our room. Now her crib is set up in our room and she sleeps just fine in that, too. She didn't get too used to the rocking of the swing, etc. she is only 4 weeks old today, but from what others said, too, I dont think it would be a problem for your baby for a longer period of time if thats what works!

a few things why they say you shouldnt is because if they feet hang over the swing (which at 6 weeks I know they dont) it can hurt their legs and 2) they will get used to it, My baby is 5 months old, the swing was one of the only ways we could get her to sleep cause she had colic, She now rarely is in the swing and sleep just fine in her crib, we would let her sleep in her swing for a good hour or so she she would take her nap. Its completely fine to let them, like you said, if she was uncomfortable she would not sleep. Your the momma, go with your head!!! Your doing great.

As long as her head doesn't flop forward there is no reason to take her out. If her head flops forward the swing isn't reclined enough for her age/muscle development and her air-supply could become compromised (not to mention her neck could get sore).
Its hard to judge from photos but that swing seems very well recline, and very well padded. Also cradle swing would imply it can be used as a cradle, no?

Leave her in the swing! If she is sleeping DON'T take her out. It is difficult enough getting an infant to sleep on their own without a bottle or nursing. I loved my infant swing and don't know what I would have done without it. Mothers are NOT always right. I am a mother of 2 and recommend an infant swing to any new mother.

it should be okay, just not that long of a time. if you are going to let her sleep in the swing, make sure she is strapped in and no other children are playing around the swing. put the swing a safe distance away from where people may trip and things like that

I worked in a day care for 5 years. it's absolutely fine to leave your child asleep in her swing. the only time you don't want your child to fall asleep is with a bottle in her mouth or a blanket near her mouth while unattended.

I say it's fine. My son slept in his till he was about 2 or 3 months old. If that's the only way she'll sleep I'd say let her sleep in it! You'll have to buy alot of batteries tho. We had to buy a pack a week because it was running for so long lol. He is now 9 months and sleeps in his crib just fine.

its ok for a while, but don't make too long a habit of it. Generally, try to move her after she has been asleep 10-15 min. She may become too used to the rocking and be unable to sleep without it.

well i went threw this. my daughter was ill at 8 weeks she got in to a good routine of 4-5hrs of a night about 4-5oz n 4-5oz every 4 hours of a day. she had tummy bug n was waking evry 2 hrs of night n only having 3oz. i sat uo 1 night n waited 2 hrs untill it was like 4hr feed n she was upset n so was i n tired but i persevered n afta a couple of nights she was sleeping right through. do u keep it loud of a day quiet at night? my daughter likes the bath hates getting dry so i try not to bath her every night. but no matter what time she has tea i take her to bed at 7.30pm. she may only of had tea at 5.30pm but even if she only has 3oz thats it its bed. usually she will have 5oz n go sleep 2hrs after tea time. i make it loud of a day n make her have at least 2x 1hr naps of a day. sleep of a day helps them sleep at night. maybe get a lullaby 4 bed it may be 2 quiet my daughter started like that but now shed sleep in a ditch. try looking at cow n gate website 4 useful tips or even tesco baby n toddler group they had a good article for 3-6month routines, best of luck xx
