Someone who was a virtual unknown outside hardcore politics might have the capacity ability to destroy the entire earth as soon as Jan 2009. Isn't this a scary thought?

Not nearly as scary as that cowboy in the White House now.

The fact any one person still has this device is scary. But I trust him over the man who sits in the White House now. W. has already sent many young people to fight a war over nothing more than settling the score for dear old dad!

What could he do?,accidentally push that big red button thinking it was a light switch.? Obama talks about reconciliation and negotiations. Any Candidate who is not a hard core Political crony would serve America much better than the palm greased crowd we now have.

He seems to have a level head. Kennedy was "inexperienced" when faced with the Cuban Missile Crisis, but did a he*l of a job. It comes down to the character of the person, not how long they've been in politics (I thought Conservatives wanted to get away from "career politicians"?)

Not really. I think Sen. Obama would make a swell President and would represent America properly.

Yes. Especially when he talks about how he wants to invade Pakistan.

I mean, Pakistan has had the bomb since the nineties. Either Carter's advisers (remember Desert One, the signing away of the Panama Canal, malaise, hyperinflation with high unemployment,. . .) forgot to tell Obama bin Laden that Pakistan has nuclear missiles, or Obama is a madman and a raving lunatic who will start a nuclear war against the Muslim Middle East.

No more than a Dunce Like GW Bush with 5 years Governor of Texas Experience controlling it.

fatridder-please stop with the idiocy-Obama was never a Muslim- His father was a Non-Practicing Muslim from Kenya, his mother was atheist. They divorced when he was 10 and he went to live with his mother. he belongs to the Church of Christ.

listen_n - huh..? Where is this quote at? that is the most ridiculous made up fact I have ever heard about Obama- Can you provide a source? Please?

EDIT: fatridder: Your proof and source is think progress .org(??) quoting faux News..you are going to have to do better than that. Fox News is as much a credible news source as the Daily SHow with Jon Stewart. They even argued in court that it was legal for them to present fals hoods as fact, because they were "entertainment"
And I always search for facts in the Canada Free Press...wow..

p.s. No one person can truly control the nukes. The football actually refers to the brief case containing the authentication codes for nuclear launch. Its not an actual neclear weapon. Also there are multiple authentication levels in order to launch all the way down the the Weapons Officer and Fire control Technician.

George W. Bush with the football scares me far more. Obama listens to other people and knows that he alone cannot trigger a nuclear weapon. Bush doesn't seem to understand this. By the way Obama can say nuclear and not nucular as Bush does.

And Bush being the leader of the free world doesn't scare you? I'd feel safer with Obama or Edwards in office.

Not as scary as keeping the republican party in office, they have already made it easy for the terrorists to grow in much larger numbers than when they took office
