Seconds are previously used or have minor mistakes. There is usually nothing wrong with them and for the newborn size they are great. Your baby won't be in newbrn size very long so the fact that the are seconds won't affect you at all. When buying larger sizes I would recommend a mix of seconds and a few news.

Seconds are ones with slight flaws, most always just aesthetic. The flaws, in most cases, do not affect the diapers use and absorbency. Buying seconds is a good way to get nice diapers for cheap.

Seconds in diapers are the same as seconds in clothing it can be anything from minor aesthetic problems (stains, misprinted fabric) to minor flaws like crocked seams or a hole.
You could probably buy 100 before you found one that was truly unusable.

There may be minor flaws, but they are still very usable. It does not mean they are used, although buying used is a good way to save money. My advice is to only buy a few and see if you like cloth diapering, because you may decide you hate it and want to go to disposables and you don't want to throw away your money buying the cloth. Check ebay out for good prices.

Since 95 percent of parents put their children in plastic diapers, it seems a bit of a moot point to analyze which choice is better or worse for the environment.
SIMPLE SOLUTION: It is unlikely that people will revert to hand washing diapers, no matter what the answer. The convenience of disposables, combined with busy lives, is too good of a help to pass up, especially because it is hard to keep a child over the age of one dry in cloth diapers.
It is reassuring, in a way, to note that in fact, the answer to the question is a muddled and confusing draw, according to most experts. On the one hand cloth diapers take a lot of water and detergent to wash, plus cotton that is usually grown with pesticides. On the other, disposable diapers are very resource-intensive using trees, plastics, and they take up enormous amount of landfill space. Even the Sierra Club considers the answer to the diaper debate a wash.
What isn’t a moot point, however, is which brand of disposable diaper you choose, for the health of your baby, and the health of the planet in which your baby will grow. If you choose disposable diapers, here is our recommendation:
Dioxin is a deadly byproduct poison that is created when the materials used to make diapers are whitened with chlorine. Direct links have been associated between dioxin exposure and cancer, birth defects, and reproductive disorders.
Tributyl tin (TBT) is biocide used in paper mills that is extremely toxic to wildlife, and according to The Green Guide Institute, in 2000, Greenpeace Germany found TBT in eight brands of disposable diapers that had been tested in Germany.
Seventh Generation’s chlorine-free disposable diapers are made with materials that have not been bleached with chlorine, and therefore do not contribute to dioxin in the environment. They also are free of TBT, fragrance, and latex, a common sensitizer. Link on this resource to locate Seventh Generation diapers near you.

Seconds work perfectly fine, but don't meet the standard that the work-at-home-mom has set for her regular sales. The materials are fine!! However, the stitching might show where she doesn't like it, for example. It might also be a return (unused) and state law may prevent her from reselling as new. Generally, most WAHM guarantee the diaper will work. Just examine it when you get it (before washing) and if unhappy, contact her.

If the lot is fairly a hundred diapers, for under $3 hundred, it fairly is purely $3 in step with diaper! this could be a spectacular fee for cloth diapers, fairly in the event that they are nonetheless in good undertaking. All-in-ones are the costliest style in many situations, and likewise the finest. New ones could fee you $12-20 each and each. I make a number of mine, and that i won't be in a position to even get the aspects for $3. in case you employ sixteen diapers in step with day on regularly occurring, over the path of a year you spend $616.fifty six on disposables (sixteen x $.11 x 356). So in case you employ those for purely three hundred and sixty 5 days, you could have paid for them and saved $3 hundred. considering that this lot incorporates all sizes, you could have the potential to apply them a lot longer than purely three hundred and sixty 5 days. i think of it fairly is definitely properly worth it, via fact the "hardship" fairly isn't that a lot. additionally get some diaper pail liners, a moist bag on your diaper bag, and a diaper sprayer to attach on your lavatory, and you would be waiting. there's no longer something incorrect with used fabric diapers, purely be certain you wash them thoroughly earlier employing them the 1st time. maximum of my fabric diapers (different than those i've got made) have been given to me via a chum after she improve into performed employing them on her 2 females. I used them on my daughter, and now my son is donning them. a number of them are donning out and that they are surely diminished and previous looking, yet they are nonetheless completely smart and that i'm in many situations the only man or woman who sees them, so who cares what they appear like?
