You have to be more specific. Is it cranking over but not starting? Or is the problem something like there is no starter action and the theft or security light is blinking? Two similar problems but totally different issues. I suspect it is the second one as the other would be a little more inconsistent. This is generally a voltage drop problem somewhere in the ignition switch area. Most of the time it is the switch itself where it develops a resistance inside the switch contacts where it alters the sense voltage of the securtiy system which then thinks someone is trying to hot wire the car and disables the starter and/or the fuel injectors. If it is this, you have to replace the electrical part of the switch. There can also be problems with added on electrical devices put into circuits that aren't designed for them. These should be able to be at least detected with a scanner as most times the BCM will store a history code. Intermittents are hard to diagnose if the car won't act up when we look at them. Have patience or bring it in to them when the car acts up if possible.

Hi..... you have a faulty fuse or a faulty starter selnoid.. Check under the hood in the fuse box and you will see a fuse link to the battery.... what can happen is this fuse has a small crack or is loose. So when its hot the fuse breaks the contact. And when it cools after a few hours the contact is resumed so the car starts..
No the starter selnoid.... same thing .. if its faulty .. it will break the contact when its hot... when it cools it then allows the contact and starts the Veh

well does it crank ? some times as a starter gets older the elicrical parts start to fail when they get hot like after a long drive or a lot of idling the starter gets hot and fails , after the starter cools then it functions the best bet is to have it checked while it is failin if it is crankinfg then it's not the starter i suspect it is what we call thermal break down hope this helped

YOU SHOULD GET THE VEHICLES COMPUTER SCANNED AND CHECK FOR ANY PROBLEMS AS WELL AS CODES AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD IDEA ON WHAT THE PROBLEM TRULY IS.

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR A CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE FINDINGS AND THE SERVICE.

LEAVE IT THERE WITH THEM SO THAT THEY CAN FIND THE PROBLEM FOR YOU, IT WILL BE A LOT BETTER THAN JUST REPLACING PART AFTER PART AND NOT DOING ANY GOOD.

It may have something to do with your security system. If you are taking it to a GM dealership service dept, then they should be able to figure something out!!
