JC Penney stores have some really nice and affordable clothes -- often they're simply maternity versions of what they already have on the rack, so it's more than black leggings and big shirts for us pregnant ladies.
I found that Target had a limited selection and flimsy construction overall. May be just my local store though.
Oh -- baby doll tops and dresses are very stylish right now, so you may be able to get away with some of those from the non-maternity section. I always thought they looked like maternity clothes anyway, so...

I think Motherhood Maternity has a great selection of stylish maternity clothes for great prices. Some of the fabrics are kind of wierd and maternity clothes fit sort of strange so I would go to the store to try them on rather than shop on-line. But you can look at the website to get an idea of what they offer. Old Navy has some cute maternity clothing also.

Target and Old Navy have saved me throughout the pregnancy. But if you don't mind purchasing or wearing clothes that were previously owned, eBay and craigs list seem to have a ton of stuff, usually offered in lots in different sizes. Also, some of the cheaper trendier clothing stores for non prego people like Forever 21, have some dresses and tops that will fit you throughout the pregnancy as well, depending on how big your belly gets...Good luck!!

Trendy but cheap maternity clothes is an oxymoron! :) I've only seen trendy stuff at maternity boutiques although sometimes that Navy store has them (can't think of the name of the place).

I'm a Target shopper. You can find cute maternity clothes there for a good price. I just got a pair of black dress pants off the clearance rack for under $7 just yesterday.

OH Good Luck with this, I had a lot of problems finding inexpensive clothes that were cute.
I did find some at Target, Old Navy online. Maybe go to some resale shops. You can be surprised at what you find at those places. In a good way too.
Good Luck!
