I know the Leafs want to get Bowman to be a senior advisor to them. Do you think they'll be successful in getting his help?

Bowman has repeatedly said no. After the first round of talks in July, a Toronto radio station contacted him at his Buffalo area home and asked him point blank if he was considering it. He said 'no'. He was very happy with his situation in Detroit at this point in his life.

Bowman is almost 74, the problems with the Leafs are huge. He can't possibly be expected to fix them at this stage.

The primary problems the Leafs are having is who to replace. The Leafs 'want' an advisor to tutor JFJ.

Well, MLSE needs to solve several problems.
1. Fire Richard Peddie
2. Hire Bryan Colangelo to run the entire basketball operations
3. Find a competent hockey guy to run the entire hockey operations, which means firing JFJ.

As long as Peddie wants to retain control, and have whomever come in and tutor JFJ, the Leafs will still be nothiing more than a cash register for the Teachers Pension Plan.

If Tanenbaum cares one iota about his team, he'll do what everybody is telling him and that is separate the two teams, and hire hockey people to run the hockey team!

Wasn't Richard peddie a frozen food guy at one time?

No it fairly is because of the fact the Hawks are going to win the cup this next twelve months and he's standard with it. Bowman the Wing's and the NHL's ultimate coach ditched his outdated team because of the fact the Blackhawks are headed in a extra effective direction.

Hell, no. I'm surprised Bowman's even talking to that idiot, Peddie. He and someone else of the same power-status (the name escapes me right now) are bickering as to how much power Bowman will have. I'm sure the greatest coach in Wings' history isn't too impressed with how MLSE are running their very expensive two-bit operation.

Go Leafs, by the way.

Do you believe Peddie would replace himself, not likely
If you believe the Leafs and JFJ, No
If you believe Scotty Bowman, NO
If you believe in pure logic Hell NO.
Sounds like a done deal, wadda ya think?

Not a chance. The Ilitchs will match any offer the Maple Leafs try to give him, effectely keeping him in the Wings organization.

He told Mike Illitch and Ken Holland earlier this summer that he is staying in Detroit.
