Okay, I got a call from an artistic director...this is exactly what he said " Rehearsals start on the 24th. Are you available?" and I said that I was...then he said to come and pick up the script today...i did..but he didn't tell me what part i had...or anything...does he just want me to read the play, then audition or do you think i'm probably in the play?....I don't want to sound like stupid to him...I don't know how to ask him, if i have a part or not?

Take someone with your to get the script. You should be told the role when you get the script. Well, what did you audition for? Maybe it is for that role, but stop worrying about which role and call him. Just say, I have my script, which part shall I work on? Break a leg, doc

Hey Brianna,

Did you audition? If so, you got the role you auditioned for & if not, you're probably preparing to audition.

The 24th is rather soon though, so it's too bad you didn't ask him to clarify when you picked up the script, but if you're unsure you really should call & ask, cuz he's the only one who really has the answer you're looking for.

If you are cast without an audition - yikes!! You may want to check on the legitimacy and/or quality of the group.

Good luck!

Did you audition? If not, you're probably being considered for an audition. If you know who it is, contact the Stage Manager.
He or she will be completely aware of what's going on with regards to casting/auditions and asking him/her won't affect whether or not you "look stupid" to the person who would decide to cast you.

I would ask him even if it is embarrassing...it's better to be prepared rather than looking like a fool! Good luck!!
