They used to play it on the Disney Channel, but not anymore.

When I was little, my Mom always took me to see the latest Disney flicks: Lady and the Tramp, Cinderella, Snow White, Fantasia, The One and Only Original Family Band, The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, Pinocchio, Peter Pan ...

It was loads of fun. She made a day of it, and we would walk around downtown and window shop before and after.

But my all time favorite has always been the one that my Daddy took me to see because my Mom was seriously ill in the hospital and couldn't take me: Sleeping Beauty.

No. I wasn't a materialistic kid that cared more for a movie than my Mom. Daddy took me to the movie to cheer me up, and to give himself a break from the hospital. Mom was all for us going.

So we did. And it was fun.

And Mom was released from the hospital the following week. Which was even more fun.

I'm pushing 60 now, and I still love Disney and 'Sleeping Beauty.'

In the BLUE dress. ... But even more in the 'peasant' dress she wears when she dances with the animals in the Prince's clothes.

(I'm not too thrilled that Disney folk decided that she should appear in their 'Princesses' campaign always in pink ... as a student of animation, I can tell you that Aurora is in the blue dress in way more visible frame-time than in the pink one.

When my kid was little she asked the people in the Disney store why Sleeping Beauty was in pink instead of blue. They told her that it was so that kids wouldn't confuse her with Cinderella. She told them that kids wouldn't get confused if Aurora was in blue because Cinderella was in silver and white not blue. ... A 3-year-old knows this, Disney folk. Why don't you? Besides, Aurora just looks prettier in blue.

Just my humble opinion.)
