I read books cover to cover all the time. I just finished rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night. A few days ago, I read What My Mother Doesn't Know and One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies in a couple of hours. It's rare that I start a book and don't finish it, and I read all the time.

When you say "whole book" are you talking acknowledgements, dedications, appendices, etc." Or just prologue to epilogue? Non-fiction research material? Or fictional stories? Prologue to epilogue, I always read. Miscellaneous material I will only read if the book itself interested me. Non-fictional research material I will read only what I need to, unless it is a topic that interests me, then I will read the whole thing. Fictional materials I will always read cover to cover.

And since I love reading, I can say that the last time I read a book cover to cover was starting the book last week and completing it a couple of days ago.

Within the month I read the Mark of the Lion Series. There are 3 books in the series and about 500 pages each but it is sooo good you can't put them down. It was my second time reading the series. Francine Rivers is the author and they are Christian Fiction. Check it out!

I read Emma from the middle of last week and finished it Monday.

I read a novel cover to cover about 2-3 times a month.

Let's see, I finished "The Once and Future King" on Saturday, "Witches Abroad" on Sunday, Monday was a travel day so I read "Maskerade." (Those latter two are Terry Pratchett Discworld books.) Yesterday I finished a baseball book called "The Glory of their Times," but I had been reading individual chapters around other things.

Pretty often, I guess.

I read 1-3 books per week. I have always loved to read, and I have literally read thousands of books. I always tell myself that I will read deep intellectual or educational books, but most of the time I end up reading just for pure entertainment. I read the magazines published by my church, (I am LDS), and I often revisit my favorite books from my childhood. I read lots of LDS fiction and I love Agatha Christie. My mom just loaned me some Jane Austen books, and I can't wait to start those. Right now I am reading "The Man in the Brown Suit" by Agatha Christie.

Within the past week. I found a volume of DeLint I hadn't ever see before at my used store, so I bought it, and read it.
Its seldom I don't read it cover to cover. I even explore the leaf where the publishing data is, just to see how many times its been printed and where.
