Scoring Categories?

At the end of last season there was talk about creatign some new scoring categories, for example Blocked Shots (hockey). Can anyone advise if additional scoring categories will be added or have the potential of being added?

The NHL has been counting blocked shots as a stat for years

I think you are mistaking scoring and statistics. Scoring is directly related to goals. A blocked shot is a statistic.
