Women do have more freedom when it comes to how they dress. "Masculine" outfits are acceptable for women to wear, esp. in the suit-and-tie business world. But you're not likely to see women going to the extent of putting on a fake moustache or beard. There are limits to what an employer would consider appropriate attire at work, for both men and women. Women generally can't wear distracting (such as overly revealing) clothes, either. When men where dresses, it's a big distraction. It's not like no one's going to notice. It takes people's attention away from their work and focuses the attention onto something that is not productive for the job at hand. Employers frown on this. It's not socially acceptable (or ethical) to wear something that causes a disruption in the workplace. No one said it was fair. It's just the way it is. Save the cross-dressing for after work, and you should have less of a problem...at least then you probably won't lose your job over it.

If you want to, yuo can wear women's clothes.
If you intend to go out in a skirt and high heels, be prepared for some comments and possible ridicule.
Unfortunately, dressing in women's clothes is going to make you look super feminine which some may take to think you are gay (nothing wrong with it if you are but you may not want those comments if you are not).
Women can get away with wearing most mens clothes because no matter what, they will still keep that feminine quality. However, some women, if they choose to dress in mens shirts, jeans and boots are sometimes automatically thought to be lesbians just because they went for something that is casual and comfy for them.

Things are slowly changing though. I see more and more men wearing kilts around town, and tonnes or guys wearing pink shirts. What kind of women's clothes do you want to wear?

well, life is less fair for most men. You all could get a sexual harrassment suit quicker than we, you would be frowned upon (probably) if you wore women's clothes, it would suggest that you are gay ( even if you wern't) not many "straight" males would want to wear our clothes.

It's totally fair. Why the crap would you even want to wear women's clothes if you're a man? It's made for people with boobs and no extra package down below. It's not going to look good or feel good, don't do it!

That'd be like putting bicycle tires on your car. They aren't made for that and if they even hold together it's going to look retarded.
