A planned parenthood is opening a block from my house and I'm sick of all the protesters. They all park on the street and entrance to a shopping center blocking the street and entrance. They also have crosses, signs and other crap all on the sidewalk. I know we value freedom of speech but why can't they be ticketed for littering or loitering? Police do give loitering tickets to people who loiter but what because they have signs they are all the sudden immune from loitering laws?

The complaints are not only that they will do abortions but also people are mad PP doesn't teach abstinence. On a side not, I am not for abortion, however abortion is not against the law so I feel like these people should not bother planned parenthood who is following the law, if they have a problem they should protest and bother the lawmakers who can actually do something about the issue, now planned parenthood who got all the permits and did everything lawfully to open up. That's like me protesting a local bar because I don't like the smoking bans. I shouldn't bother them for following the law, I should take my complaint to the state lawmakers.

Okay, I understand protesters have rights, but when they are causing congestion problems for people in my neighborhood and littering our entire block with balloons and crap and showing indecent pictures they are infringing on my rights of living peacefully in my neighborhood.

Also, to show how ridiculous these protesters are they are now suing the police dept because the police said they can't stick there hundreds of crosses in the ground, but they can lay them against a tree or something. Personally I dont' think they should be able to litter and clutter my neighborhood sidewalk at all so I think it's pretty reasonable the police are allowing them to have there signs just not to tear up the lawns with them but none the less they are suing the police. I hope someone winds up getting physical with the protesters, will be interesting to see how quickly the police come to their assistance.

I see no problem with protesters as long as they reasonably follow the law. It is important that everyone has a voice and to stand up for what you believe in.

Most loitering laws have been stricken down by the Supreme Court because they are pretty much arbitrary.

As long as they are on public property, you can't do much. It's their constitutional right to scream and holler for whatever they want.

A police officer cannot arrest someone for protesting, at least not constitutionally. If they are being a nuisance maybe you could file a complaint and have them protest elsewhere.

Although some people's protest may annoy the **** out of you, you should respect their right to do so. Even if it's for something you're completely against.

I was counseling a woman who recently got an abortion. Her problem was guilt. She said that there were protesters, and her conscience was listening to their words. The abortion was done in two parts. After the first day's dilation, she went back and told PP she wanted to back out. They told her she could not. She went through with the procedure, and now has a severe depression, as she understands the weight of her decision.

It was her opinion that the protesters are doing a good thing.

if political 'free speech' zones can be set up well away from the action in new york city for the rnc convention in 2004, then i say the same thing should happen to these pests.

i used to live a few blocks from such a place and EVERY weekend morning they were there screaming at the top of their lungs.

I would get a group of people and go picket their church on Sunday morning ... with big signs the say "Christians are Pro-Unwanted children!"

or if they are handing out pictures of chewed up naked babies call the police and have the arrested for child pornography (those photos are illegal)

They should totally leave your neighborhood alone. You shouldn't have to put up with that. What do the police say?
