Of course ancient people wanted technology. it was all about improvement of the species. Just because they didn't have it doesn't mean they didn't want it. Technology was around as long as man started using a stone as a tool. Technology does not automatically mean electronics or machines.

There are ancient forms of technology still in use nowadays, such as the wheel.

Because those who made technology adoption decisions were content with the status quo. When Heron of Alexandria built the first steam engine, no one (including Heron himself) wanted to even consider the potential for its commercial use; why spend money on an engine, when you already have slaves that do all the grunt work?

I don't understand the question.

1. You're asking as if you knew that they refused technology once or on more occasions

2. You're asking as if someone offered technology

3. Define technology and which ancient people are you talking about?

Who said they didn't?
Water wheels, water clocks, potters wheel, steam engines (the first actually came from 100 AD/CE), the warp weighted loom (from 7000 BC), telescopes, sewers....they had technology...not the way we know it, but then again, look at our own history here, in the US....it took what, 200 years to invent the computer?

What makes you think that they didn't?

There is a difference between not having something and not wanting something. Why don't you want free energy? You probably do, but it hasn't been invented yet.
