It could be that the food you are using does not appeal to other species. Add some different seeds to the mix you are feeding. Also, add other types of food - not all birds eat seed. Try a nectar feeder for hummingbirds, a jelly feeder for orioles, and some fruit, especially grapes, raisins (soaked in water overnight before offering them to the birds), and diced apple and pear, or apple, pear and orange halves. You could even offer some mealworms for the insect eaters. And don't forget suet or a variety of nuts for the woodpeckers and nuthatches.

It could be that the feeders you are using are not attractive to other species. Not all birds like to eat from the same type of feeders. Birds like mourning doves are typically ground-feeders, while other birds, like the finches and chickadees, prefer hanging feeders.

Location is another important factor. Many birds will ignore feeders that are out in the middle of the yard, with no bushes or trees around them, as they feel more vulnerable to predators. And some birds will not use feeders placed too close to a window or an area of human activity.

Also, remember that you will get more birds if you provide a source of fresh, clean water for drinking and bathing, along with the various types of feeders.

Well, I guess it depends on what you are feeding them. Where I live, north east, we get Chikadees, Cardinal, Sparrows, and Blue Jays (agressive bullies!), at our feeder which is essentially a tray with a sunflower mix.

We get Gold Finches, and some of their cousins at our "finch feeder" it is essentially a tube which holds "Thistle" seed. They are a beautiful yellow color and we have very many!

We also have a humming bird feeder. This year we have atleast 4 regular humming birds that visit daily. (i'm shocked with how agressive they are) A feeder can be cheap and purchased at any hardware store, walmart, etc. Just mix water and sugar with a ratio of 5:1.

Orioles like to eat oranges and tangerenes. they are so beautuiful! Just cut an orange in half and set it out for them. You can buy special feeders too.

We also have morning doves who like to feast on what's left on the ground.

Try buying suet to encourage they winter birds to stick around (chicadees/cardinals)

A variety of feeders and food, should bring you a variety of birds!

Either : (i) you have the wrong type of food (different birds eat different things); or, (b) those are the only types of birds in your immediate area.
