Is the general American public even sensitive to the issue of the exploitation of the media and advertising? I wonder, every time I turn on the television.
I don't mean to sound so negative. I'm actually hopeful that many Americans, like myself, have become tired of the barrage of the media and are more discerning about what they take in. Here's hoping, anyway.
Mostly, I am concerned for the young who have never known anything different but the continual selling of ideologies.

All 3 of the front runners are too far left for me. I like Joe Biden because he has sensible solutions to issues the other candidates aren't talking about. I will almost certainly vote for the Republican candidate next year if Obama is anywhere on the ticket. Biden needs to be on the ticket to get my vote assuming he is not Obama's running mate.

Usually, the party that stumbles LEAST wins the election.
Both parties make plenty of mistakes. But I'm especially disappointed in the Republicans, as I expect more from them.
The media will downplay this story, and few "independents" will even hear of it.
Count me a pessimist. :(
PS one more dumb or vicious comment from the likes of Kerry, Durbin, etc. will do more to sway people than any ad in the NYT. I also expect at least one prominent Democrat to put his foot in his mouth at an inopportune time as well!
PPS The truth is, many people can't even understand what could possibly be upsetting about that ad. To them, all war is bad (except for terrorist attacks on the West), America is always in the wrong, and the military (along with the rest of our political and economic system) is to be scorned. Evil to them exists not in the caves and lairs of al-Qaeda, but in the institutions of our own military and government.
These people are just not on our side. I fear they never will be.

all your doing is furthering this pointless nonsense. Seriously, who cares?
There is so much more important things to focus our energy on and Moveon.org is an extremeist point of view. Its no different than lets say, Rush L. making b.s. statements over the radio that doesnt help our country. Search online, there extreme right-winger orgs as well.
The point is, ignore them. They are capitalizing on this for themselves, not for us. LIke little children, they want constant attention. JUST IGNORE THEM!!
Perhaps this is why our Democratic Candidates are not making a fuss.....because they are smart enough to realize how stupid it is and won't validate it by addressing it

The dem candidates are counting on their lapdogs from the press to sweep this under the rug.
They are probably right.

move-on.org is publicly expressing the sentiments ofthe majority of Americans--admittedly with a tendancy toward hyperbole.
I didn't notice any of the right-wing objecting to the tactics of THEIR organizations, like the "Swiftboat Veterans."
If you don't like strong rhetoric directed against your side--well, they set the tone. Now they're getting the consequences. At least move-on gets their facts straight, instead of lying.

The Democrats sold their souls to Moron.org a long time ago. Sadly, this doesn't surprise me a bit - didn't Moron.org tell the Dems that they owned them after the 2004 election?
And you bet your *** I'll demand an explanation. I just won't hold my breath waiting for it.
Good post, Earnest!

the radical right that care about such things is shrinking daily.
if you think that a president can't be elected without the support of the southern states, think again.
but while we're coming clean about the treatment of decorated war heroes - when will all of the cons who took such delight in the smearing of such decorated war heroes as john kerry and max clelland going to apologize?
over 70% of americans no longer care what you think, what you do about that is your business.
your days of dictating insane policy based on hatred, racism and medieval level logic are OVER!

If the democrats don't denounce that ad.
Than they can NEVER complain about attack ads EVER again.
Those who do are hypocrites and don't deserve a single vote.
BTW: Added information please remember how upset the DNC got over the Swiftboat Vets.
