Yes. It sounds plausible. He does seem very cozy with the GOP. Let me put it this way. Lets assume Gore had won, and Gore has been president for the past 6 years and Lieberman has been his VP. Can you imagine a democratic non warmonger president whose VP is a warmonger and wants to attack Iraq, Iran and every other country in the mideast that does not like Israel? That would not be a very comfortable pairing would it? It does not matter how liberal lieberman might seem on other issues. Its all a ruse. After how liberal can he be, if he thinks its ok to piss away hundreds of billions of dollars unnecessarily and literally taking things away from american citizens that are direly needed. A liberal does not do that. So Lieberman is no liberal. I believe he is more than likely a mole now and he was a mole back when he was the running mate of Gore.

Officially Lieberman is an independant. He votes with the Democrats on most issues. He is a pro-Israel Jew and is therefore a hawk on the war. That is why he left the Democratic party and became independant. On other issues he is still very much a Democrat. It would not surprise me that once the war is over, if he lives that long, he will be back in the Democratic party.

He was Gore's running mate in 2000.Most people who think Joe Lieberman is cozy with the GOP don't know about his politics. Joe is a moderate to liberal who is one of few Democrats who favor the war in Iraq. He has made numerous trips to Iraq in fact. His voting record is mostly liberal. He opposed Justice Alito in the vote and has a liberal social issues voting record. The Democratic party shun him because moderates no longer have any clout in the party. It is now run by the far left as evidenced by the 3 ultra liberal front runners. Lieberman is refreshing to me because he votes for what he thinks is right, not any agenda by either party. I'd vote for him for president or vice president again because he is one of the things that is right about the so-called Democratic party

Yes, Senator Lieberman was Gore's running mate in 2000.
I don't see any evidence that he's a mole or any other conspiracy theories. He's always been hawkish on foreign policy, BUT Joe L's stance on Iraq was increasingly being seen out of touch with reality as time went on. Heck, being hawkish shouldn't mean you throw out your rationality with respect to evaluating policy. Rep. John Murtha, a traditional strong supporter of the military, has been a strong opponent of Bush's Iraq policy for the last few years.
For that reason, he was ousted in the 2006 Democratic primary for reelection (the Iraq war was highly unpopular with Connecticut voters). Lieberman did manage to retain his seat as an Independent - which has allowed him to continue his increasingly nonsensical stances on Iraq/Iran.

Gore misplaced the election for Gore. he's an elitist snob who talks all the way down to people. comparable difficulty that Obama has. They the two (could as properly throw in Kerry) think of they're smarter and greater powerful than the familiar American voter and it shows. Joe Lieberman has in no way had any worry with non-Jewish voters because of the fact he's proper up front with it and has in no way made any excuses for it. There are extremely countless Jewish politicians who get elected truthfully because of the fact they're at peace with their faith and prepare it conveniently. Lieberman is one in all them. it fairly is Gore looking yet another reason in charge somebody - each and every person - different than himself. He could have run with Jesus and it could have meditated badly on Jesus. Gore is a loser.

It should also occur to you that Joseph Isadore Lieberman is a Jew and if you ask the democrats, socialist and moveon, he actually won in 2001.
So I guess we can set to rest that only a Christian can get elected.
When Liberman said that he understood the magnitude of a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, the Democrats tried to dump him with a christian opponent, Ned Lamont even at the risk of losing the majority in the senate.
Liberman promptly became an independent and won again.

Yes, Leiberman was Gore's running mate in 2000. However, he is certainly not a "double agent" or anything like that. Nor is he "cozy" with the GOP.
Rather, he is one of the few independent thinkers in our government who respects the will of his constituents and uses his common sense rather than party line to make his decisions.
The democrats kicked him off their ticket in 2006 when he was trying to run for re-election, by the way, and he was still re-elected resoundingly as an independent.

Your question about if he passed Gore's campaign strategy to the Republicans assumes that Gore had a campaign strategy. Sadly, he ran the most unfocused and pointless campaign I can recall, which helped Bush to win.

Joe Liberman diverges from the Democrat party in his support for the war in Iraq.
That had not yet happened in 2000.
