That could be a lot of people, but for someone who's craft I'v consistently admired, and someone who isn't a drug/alcohol casualty, I'd have to go with Robert Fripp, who is the sole remaining original member of King Crimson, and is their leader. A truly amazing, otherworldly guitar legend.
