Career ending Injuries to Dorsey, Steltz, Highsmith, Doucet, Lafell, Flynn, and Perilioux would make it possible for USC to beat LSU. But I still would take the Tigers.

"LSU aint that strong"
"its honestly probably a better offense than half the freaking NFL teams out there"
And this is the football IQ of a USC fan. I am a fan of neither team, and if they played I would actually root for USC. But if you have even watched an LSU game this year and you still say they are not that strong shows you opinion does not mean squat.
And to think any college offense would hold up against an NFL team is rediculous.
After listening to all the stupid USC drivel on this site I just might have to root for LSU if they play.

Off couse USC could beat LSU? Just like appy state can beat Michigan. But if they meat up USC would have to much on their hands to handle. As usualy USC doesn't realy play anybody, and LSU will be tested througout the season, becase of being in a Juggernout conference. LSU's deffense is too strong to fast and has the SEC physicality.
Deffense wins championships, and the DEFFENSE favors LSU.

LSU's QB still has yet to show what he can do against a real high caliber defense. Virginia Tech's defense was good but not real high caliber. USC would befuddle LSU by using several types of running backs. Then USC, would find their receivers wide open if they can run the ball.
I think USC is a slightly better team than LSU but they are very even. If they played, USC would win 20-17.

Cody J G- What time does the short bus pick you up for school every morning. "USC's offense is way better than LSU's", HA HA HA HA. VT has had the #1 ranked defense for 3 years coming into the Tiger game. The Tiger's dropped 600 yards of offense on them and a lot of that was by backup players. "USC's defense is scarier than LSU's". HA HA HA HA HA. If by USC's defense you mean Chicago Bear's defense, you may have a point. But otherwise you are retarded.

Well, I am a USC fan and alumnist which has nothing to do with this, but lets examine the evidence which is in front of us.
USC Offense:
The QB (John David Booty) is as accurate as they get. If you notice all the different teams recruiting wide receivers the size of tight-ends? Who started doing that first? USC!
The Offensive-Line is solid and for all purposes veterans. The only weakness if you wanna call it one would be the center since he is a freshman.
Running Backs- Its bad enough trying to adjust to one or two good backs in Reggie Bush or Lyndell White, now the Trojans can platoon 8 different guys. Let us not forget the Fullback. USC uses him the old school way by letting him rush the ball and catch passed, not just for blocking.
Defense:
All three linebackers are All Americans
The secondary has not been this solid since the late 70's and the defensive line is big, fast and physical.
Special Teams will be their weakness as well as ego. Remember, USC is beating quality teams with freshman and sophmores. Their opponent teams use upper classman.
USC has proved its dominance over the SEC that most SEC fans continue to ignore. USC beat Arkansas last year, who was the dominate team in that division until the title game. A few years prior the Trojans beat Auburn, yet they still get no respect from SEC fans despite the demise of the conference. Tennesse, Auburn and Georgia have already lost.
I am not say LSU is not good. In fact they are great, but they only beat Virginia Tech. If you stack the deck over the past few years, the Trojans have taken on all comers from all divisions and beat them. LSU can't truthfully say that.
USC Trojans have mastered the West Coast Offense.

Yeah boy, them USC Trojans are very powerful. They beat IdaWho? 38-10. Now that's something to be very proud of. LSU has outscored their opponents 93-7 this year. LSU would beat USC like a red-headed stepchild.

USC should be ranked higher. Great football team all the way around. I look for them to come back stronger next year maybe even a shot at the national title. They were a much younger football team this year than past years. John David Booty has more expirence now, and CJ Gable should be good, he will be a sophomore next year.

I am thinking that the only, and I mean ONLY way USC could ever beat LSU, is if they could somehow score more points then them.
