Am I the only one person who thinks that 90's was the best cinema history for drama romance movie when good romance movies were released, just like Pretty Woman, Ghost, When Harry meet Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Titanic, You've Got Mail, City of Angels, etc. So many romance movies without being chick flicks. Now I just find THE NOTEBOOK to fulfill my love thirst.

I liked Elizabethtown. It isn't too chick flick but it is still good. Even my dad likes it and he hates chick flicks. But I do have to agree that the 90s were great for drama romance movies.

Try these more recent ones

A Lot Like Love
Fever Pitch ( with Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Falon )
Pride and Predjudice ( with Kiera Knightly and Colin Firth )

I know there are lots more but these are my favorites besides The Notebook

The Lake House is a very good movie. I personally don't think its a chick flick, and my boyfriend liked it. Hope you like it too.

All the books you have been shown in her answer that are over 100 yrs old are now unprotected by copy write as it has expired . So you can read or print them for free. I would say try The Scarlet Letter to get you interested in older authors. You wont look back.
