Now a days inspite of the great provocation by terrorists from pakistan people live peacefully. There are more muslims in India than in pakistan. They live peacefully and happily because the hindus are tolerant and peace loving. Most of the muslims there have contributed to the greatness of India.Ancient hindu culture is the world's oldest and it is preserved.
The caste system is over exagerated and exploted by the politicians now and the Raja Maharajas earlier. They have divided and ruled the castes. In spite of povrty peple love each other and tolerate the rulers. No revolutios are possible here. The breeding comunists could not succeed here in spite of possibilities.

The fact that people seem to care about each other and will do a kind act for you for no reason other than kindness
The open smiles of the children
The humour and wit of the young people
The fact that hindus do not seek to convert others or impose their ways on others

i was born in India but live in the US (24 years plus) Best thing about India is that all the food is made from scratch and fresh. no additives or preservatives but now that it is becoming a globally developed country i am afraid it will become commercialized and lose it's authenticity!
What i don't like about India is that the political systems, the Justice systems lack honesty. It's that way in America too. but it's such a hassle when u want information you are given the run around.

The best thing I like in India
1. Unity in Diversity.
2. Culture and tradition, also our respect to tradition
3. Self sufficient, we do not need to go to any other country for any commodity. Rather other countries are invading and we coolly accepts them.

Its so varied, the culture, customs, languages, traditions, beleif systems, also the way people look, behave, dress, food. It is almost like another whole world to be discovered, and one life time might not be enough to understand the richness of this great country
