Since it's your home...

You can evict him;

You could file a complaint against him or charge him with a violation of Georgia drug laws;

You can ignore the problem until the day the police show up with a search warrant.

I assume you are talking about illegal drugs.

If the cops did a "knock and talk" or raided your house, you could and would likely be arrested for possession of whatever drugs your roommate has. In some jurisdictions, the police could seek forfeiture of the house (if you own it) and/or your personal property inside the house.

If you don't use drugs, then your roommate is creating a legal risk for you and you should ask him to move out. If he doesn't, you'd have to start eviction proceedings.

If you use drugs, then its really not an issue. You would both be assuming the same risk.

I presume it is a student house. If you do not want trouble, get another room as he can stuff drugs into your bags to avoid being caught when there's a check. If you call the police, it might make you look bad to your roommate sort of like betrayal.

Another is to give him an ultimatum to either leave your house or that you report to police to protect your safety from the law. If he chooses to stay in your house, then tell him it is mandatory that his room will constantly be checked for any drugs that will require police action when found.

If that is a question you need to bring to an ethics solution forum, maybe you should think of getting a new roommate?

Need more information to give you an honest answer. If you are anting to know what you should do...I would make him move out of your home immediately. You could get into a lot of trouble for harboring someone in your domicile with knowledge of his drug habits.

Please include more detail so that people can answer your question.

Under the law, if you knowingly allow it to happen, you can be arrested and charged just like he could.

If you don't like it, tell him he needs to stop bringing them into the home or move. If he doesn't, call the cops and have him removed and arrested.

You have rights too.

There is a fine line here.....I am speaking from personal experience.

If it is personal use amounts.....don't worry, just let him know, that in no uncertain terms, you will not take any responsibility. If it is on a larger scale, technically you are an accomplis (spelling?)....I have moved out, broken my lease, and paid out, to ensure my safety.
