and why?
I'd have to say mine was Hank Jr. If not for him and his life style away from the spot light, I wouldnt love living out in the country as i do now. Even though we don't have curb service we still have the fresh air, open land, and beautiful smog free scenery, you can stand on top of a hill and see for miles. How many people in the city can say that?

Well I'm going to say Miranda Lambert. She's around my age and I love how she's herself all of the time. She's got a rock n' roll, rebelous side that I love. She's just a small town girl who is a little crazy sometimes but knows how to be a lady. And she hasn't conformed to the stick thin celebrity. She's got a good healthy figure and proud of it.

But I would LOVE to have been around when Hank, Willie, Waylon etc. were up and coming.

Mine's definitely Garth Brooks-I still see that man sing and it gives me goosebumps. His live music brings tears to my eyes and his love of God is so evident in every venue ever made.
He came into music at a time where numbers were at an all-time low, took a chance on a different style of the same music that he loved and single handedly placed country music back on the map.
He made a new name for entertainment and set records that still stand for sales and concerts.
This man came from nowhere, took everything he had and put it all on the line to sacrifice a dream...GOD I love him!

I would have to say George Strait Because he has never changed his style, never went for all that glitter, smoke, fireworks, flying around on a cable or a rock style guitar. Just went out there as himself performed his style and has stayed that way. I am that way too and will never change for anybody or anything. Have a nice day!! Sawmill

The song that make me feel great every time I hear it is Heartland, by George Strait. Nothing is better than living a simple life, working hard and enjoying friends and family.

I can't say that any country musician has inspired me to be who I am today. I think who I am has come more from actual people in my life through the years that I have held a high regard for their morals and ethics. I will say that there is a particular song that I relate to exceptionally well, pretty much word for word to his lyrics and ironically, the lyrics pretty much express your same sentiments. A lot of people have songs that they attach to their personal perspectives and adopt as their personal theme songs. this is mine...

Works for Me...

Never owned a brand new car
Never worked in a white collar
Never held a woman longer
Than I held one single dollar
I never went out chasin’ rainbows
‘Cause there can’t be that much to it
Even if I found my pot of gold
I’d probably piss right through it

I can’t remember ever wanting
For one second of my life
Even if I did it cost too much
To ever pay the price
I don’t dance out on the dark side
Ain’t no secrets I can’t tell
So you don’t have to say a prayer for me
I just said one for myself

I’m livin’ my life
under my terms
I’m callin’ the shots
As far as I can see
I don’t owe nobody nothin’
I don’t answer to a soul
Might not work for you
But it works for me

I’ve been bent and bruised and broken
And flat busted once or twice
I brought most of it upon myself
But I never compromised
My pride’s too hard to swallow
So I’ve chewed a lot of it
Mild-mannered and soft-hearted
And hard-headed as you get

I live out on the backroads
Where I walk my country mile
And if it’s so good in the city
Why don’t anybody smile?
The traffic’s always heavy
And the air ain’t fit to breathe
I ain’t saying that it’s wrong for you
It just don’t make sense to me

I’m livin’ my life
Under my terms
I’m callin’ the shots
As far as I can see
I don’t owe nobody nothin’
I don’t answer to a soul
Might not work for you
But it works for me
