My nieces are 7 and 11 years old and have seen most of the popular childrens films. I want to find some lesser known ones they have not seen yet eg. Secret Garden, Millions.

i would recommend:

Labyrinth- David Bowie and a young Jennifer Connolly

The Never-ending Story- came out in early eighties

The Princess Bride- has Andre the Giant in it!

The Bear- i think the same people who did that March of the Penguins movie did this. i didn't see that but this was good.

um, i'm just trying to think of movies i saw when i was a kid...

Flight of the Navigator- i don't remember this one too well but it had a space ship and some cute little aliens.

anyway, check these out next time you're at the video store. i love movies and these were some i saw when i was a kid that i thought were really good and still do.

oh, how about any of the Indiana Jones movies? Those are great.

happy hunting,

T

Shirley Temple movies are great. I would also suggest The Princess Bride, Labyrinth, and The Watcher in the Woods.

Less popular movies for two girls, 7 and 11. Well there are always the classics, like Labyrinth, with David Bowie.

The Last Mimzy (fairly new) very good... Narnia (also, newer but, very good).... Zapthura (a few yrs. old) or Jamanji (same premis) based on a children's book series.. Space Camp (1990's), Bad News Bears, Freaky Friday (old/new version), The Parent Trap (ditto), Neverending Story series.. The Princess Bride (very cute and funny good for adults too). !! E.T. (classic). Everafter (newer, but not too kiddie)..

don't know if its available on DVD or not, but the Dark Crystal is a movie i liked very much when i was young. The swan princess was another that i liked...not the new version, but the older version. the gremlins was good and of course the "Ewock" movie.
