Go out and do something constructive. Go the park and take a long walk. Exercise more. Watch a marathon of the Three Stooges. These ideas should get the ole noggin thinking.

When I feel down I try to stay as busy as possible to get my mind off things. I visit with people and try to get my mind off everything. It helps most of the time, but if your depression is so extreme that it controls you and you can't just escape it, I would seek professional help. Nothing could be worse than being your own prisoner in your mind.
If this question applies to you...cheer up! Get out and live life...make new friends...do new things...life is too short not to enjoy.

Best way to fight depression is keeping your mind pre occupied always.Read books, magazines, hear music,be with friends and donot allow your mind to brood.
Anti depressants give some relief. But in the long run they are harmful to brain. One of the cause of ED is stated to be excessive use of antidepressants.

Very difficultly, see a counsellor, think positive, get anti-depressants, every time you're feeling slightly happy, write down all the things you kinda like about yourself, all the good things in your life, and all the things you got going for you and things youve got to look forward to then when youre feeling really down, read through it.
It helped me!
