After what seemed, at the time, like a long time, (most friends already married, etc.) I convinced myself I'd never find the one I was looking for, that he didn't exist, and picked the best one 'so far'. As a result, when I met my soul mate, it was already too late.

Don't settle, ladies! Wait for 'the one'. Yours is out there, if you're more patient than I was!

it has been a while since she broke up with me, over three years but i let her slip away, i just took the whole thing for granted, that she would stay with me. she even said after we broke up that we were soul mates and we still keep in contact, not as much as i would like. i guess you cant alway get what you want, you just acept what you can get and make the most of it. and also appriciate it, because it can be taken away very quickly.

This is deep, OK? Found him, some 2 years ago. He IS my soul mate, in every aspect, all i ever dreamed of. BUT this delusional moron right here decided to give her career and lifestyle a chance, instead of giving him a chance.
Now I'm sans him (he's found himself a nice, mini-me sized pseudo copy of myself) but am enjoying my career.
Bad or good choice? You judge.
