My BF of 16 years had a car for sale she had it at my house for 1 year and it didnt sell. My boyfriend was in need of a car and bought it from them for 1000.00 he paid 400 down and was to pay the rest WHEN HE COULD> Months later each of us knowing eachothers fancial probs. she told her daughter it was my fault she( 6 years old )was not having a party because me and my boyfriend didnt pay for the car! Now the kid hates me and I have not spoke to her in 2 months! What do u think? Remember the car was at my house sitting there 4 sale for over a year!16 years of friendship and alot of bad feelings from both of our kids who also were very close once until she told her it was my fault about her b-day!HELP!

This general happens when you do business with friends or family. Regardless that the car sat in your yard for a year.
Your boyfriend bought it and needs to finish making the payments. Has he not made anymore payment since the $400.? I understand money is tight, but he shouldn't have tried to buy it if he couldn't pay for it... He needs to make more payments- get it paid off.
Your friend should have never made that comment about not getting to have a party because you or your boyfriend hadn't paid for the car. That is rather childish.
Don't let a car and some money come between a friendship that has gone on for 16 years.
Do what you can to get it paid off.
I am telling you this happens more times than not, when dealing with family and friends when business and money is concerned.
