the lyrics seem to indicate that he is incarcerated and has been forgotten. any1 know anything about this? the only thing i can say is that when im locked up this song gets stuck in my head.

The song was written in 1964 and topped the charts for that year. It is about a soldier who was in Korea during that "conflict". He was conscripted and young at the time and not used to being away from home. Mail delivery was not very good at the best of times and he always thought that he was forgotten by his family and friends.
