I plan on teaching english to make some extra money once i complete the TEFL course in Spain.

I'm wondering if anyone has ever used the IYTC (international youth travel card) or the Eurail passes to save money while abroad.

The Eurail pass seems to be worth the time and money, but is the IYTC card worth buying?

If you (will) have been in Europe by the time you start your travels, look into Interail passes:
http://www.inter-rail.com/interrail-global-pass.asp
But check how much you would travel and how much it would cost you if you travel without a pass, as you need to be in the train a lot or start with a long distance travel to be cheaper of with a pass.

It might also be cheaper to fly to a city far away, and use local trains or even long distance buses in the country you fly to.

For each country you can find a train planner when you google on train times or tickets and the name of the country.
One for most of Europe you can find on the site of Eurail: http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/fares_schedules/index.htm
But remember that most of the long distance rides you can get a reduction if you are not yet 26.

For cheap flights, just enter that and maybe the town where you fly from and to, check direct with the airline too.

Enjoy your time in Europe.

I don't know about the IYTC.. But the Eurorail pass is definitely worth it. It ends up being a lot cheaper. Good luck!
