A very good question !! I'm leading my own life to some extent but, there are others that are in control of certain situations. Unfortunately, there are times that I have very little control. But, I am aware of what I can and cannot control. For now, I have to accept things as they are.

I have enough control over my life now to realise that its ok to relinquish some responsibility to my other half. I used to think couples we're a one sided thing where you had to make sure and have your say ALL the time or you would lose your identity... but since I've flown the nest and got away from mother, I see that you can have healthy relationships with trust and everything!
Saying that, I lead my own life - we just chose to live our lives together and we have some shared decisions but I ultimately make up my own mind and wouldn't have a partnership with someone whom I didnt agree with most of the time.

So no he isnt in control of my life same as I am not in control of his.

I control what I eat what I do when I go to sleep what I wear .... what I feel like saying but for the most of it my parents are in control

Ive done it for 20 years, then got married to a wonderful man, just a little over a year ago so Im still in the car but Im letting him drive awhile.
