I bought some calcium supplement (from GNC) for my mom and I want to send it to Vietnam. Does anyone know if I can send it through normal USPS mail? Will the Vietnamese customs let it through? The cost of mailing is no problem.

I have sent three packages to my wife and children in Vietnam and all were received intact. However, It takes months to arrive. If money is not a problem, try Guaranteed Overnight Delivery. I see their trucks everywhere, whenever I visit the country.
Another suggestion is that if your mom lives near Saigon or Hanoi, you could ask a local Viet travel agent if someone going there could bring it over and give it to her.

btw, any antacid is loaded with calcium, I'm sure they sell antacids in your mother's hometown or province.

I would be very very careful about sending packages to Vietnam. Even if you do buy insurance and all that good stuff, once it is in Vietnam it is out of the USPS's hands. So if they decide to open up and "check" your package, it may or may not make it to your mom the way you intended.

Another option you might take is to try 4mua.com. They are an agency that lets you order gifts from their website (or one of their agents) and they deliver it directly to your receipient. That way you do not have to go through VN Customs.

Just package it well and send it out.

Check with USPS for a customs declaration label that you can stick on the package. Show what is inside and the value.
Stick on the label and the stamps and send it off.
