His name will be Reynaldo Barrie Jr.( last name is close but gives u an idea) We have 2 nicknames for him R.J and Baby Rey. The only reason I'm asking so I can show hubby on how others feel about them being called a Jr. lol
Thanks for helping out !

Obviously I'm not a man (LOL), but if it helps at all, my grandfather is a junior, and we had wanted to use his first or middle name as this child's middle name (if it's a boy) in his honor. Turns out he was anything BUT honored. LOL He basically said he's always hated not having his "own" name, so he wouldn't really feel using either for our child would be after him -- it would be after his father -- and he pretty much asked us not to do that. Not that he wasn't flattered ... just that since he's never liked the idea of being a junior himself, he felt it more a burden than an honor to pass it along to yet another new family member. Just a personal experience thing, I suppose.
For what it's worth, while I obviously think it's a lovely idea to use the name of a grandparent or other loved one, both my husband and I feel quite differently about naming a child after ourselves. After all, when a parent -- that has an active say in choosing the child's name -- is the one being "honored," well ... it's not an honor at all, know what I mean. I'm not saying it makes men who do this egotistical or self-involved or whatever. Simply that it seems much more meaningful -- and less confusing! ;) -- to name a child for someone dear to you. Your father or grandfather, a favorite uncle, even your mother's maiden name. Any of those seem so much more thoughtful than simply calling him Junior, if that makes sense. Perhaps your husband would like that idea even more? ;)
Hope that helps, and congratulations on your son!

I'm not a "Jr" but I know I wouldn't like to be one. Naming the first born male after the father is old and outdated tradition. (By the way...I'm old and outdated too - 49 yrs.)
My apologies to your husband but I would like the name "Rey" even less then Jr. He will have to spell it every time he has to give someone his name and he will constantly be having to correct it on forms and such since everyone will spell it Ray.

well, I have always believed a child should have his own identity. And when you give your child jr it seems to me from another mans perspective that it is a ego thing. So i am for giving the son his on name, not John jr or thomas the 3rd.

Definitely make the boy a Junior. I am a 3rd, going back to the late 1800's. It is really important to me that my son be a 4th.

Junior? not a good idea
why don't you try "Ray" just "Ray"
or try other names that sounds nice
don't use him to remember something! he's a kid, not a memorabilia!!!
