It should be the best person for the job that the American people have elected (and not the Electoral College) and race nor sex of that person should come into play in any way. You hear people talk about great Presidents, but rarely do they speak of those great female mothers that raised them. And the color of ones skin has absolutely nothing to do with what kind of President one would make.

For intelligent open-minded people, I would say that I truly hope not. Just like religion and nationality should also not be a way to decide. It should be about competency, and whether you agree with their issues. Who you think would be the best to take care of this country.

I think there are MANY people out there though who do base their decisions on ignorant reasons, such as sex, race, and religion. Unfortunately, sometimes there seems to be more of them than us! Which is how this country got messed up with a terrible president in the first place! I think bush used his religion in a way, and i think that it was a deciding factor for many.

Voters who choose elected officials soley on race or sex are dumbazzes--far more dangerous than inept empowered politicians running amok in D.C. Sadly, there are scores of American voters who WILL vote for a woman or a black man because of who they physically are--never mind if they are qualified for the job.

Voters need right now to wake up and take a hard fair look into ALL the candidates and choose the right one who can DO the job. We've suffered enough as a country run by an inept president as it currently stands.

Race? NO.

Gender? Maybe.

I mean, I'm going to be honest here, even if I get thumbs down for it... BUT I would be a little hesitant in voting for a female president.

Afterall, I myself am a woman BUT I'd hate to see someone who gets PMS on a power trip. Let me put it this way, if I ever run... don't vote for me!

You might get countries nuked once a month! :oP

No. I vote according to their positions on issues. But Im soooo tired of hear about Hillary being a woman and Obama being black. There are more important things than that. Its very scary that people vote based solely on gender and race

For many people, yes, it would. Many people don't really know or care about a president's policies, they just vote based on who has the nicest face or the most widely known name.

May the best man, woman or race win. Unfortunately, a politician will win.

Nope, sorry. Best person for the job. Just because I don't want Hillary to be president, doesn't mean I don't think a competent woman couldn't do it.

No, I base my vote on platform and whether I think the person can carry off his/her ideas, nothing else.

Not at all. But if they are too religious and make policy because of it I won't vote for them as I believe in separation of church and state.
