Is the heating element broken? Is it the thermostat? I don't want to pay to have someone come check it out. Any help is appreciated. No dumb answers please.

the thermostat is out of calibration...this can be reset but you will have to have a good serviceman come and do this....even if you install a new thermostat it is possible it would also have to be checked to make sure it got to the temperature you set it at...

My oven does the same thing. The trick is, does it need you to heat it to 385 consistently to reach 350? If it does, then all you need is an oven thermometer so you can be sure what temperature your oven is when you put your stuff in there. That's what I've done and it works pretty well.

Sounds like the thermostat is broken. I would go to some place like Home Depot. Give them the model number of the oven and ask if they have replacement thermostats. They would probably also explain how to install it.

BEFORE you panic why not get a inside oven thermometer.. It sets inside the oven and you can see how much off your oven is BEFORE you get it fixed. Just set your oven to the temp. you want and when it's preheated check it against the inside thermometer.. Just be sure to put it where you can check it w/o opening it.. good luck

the best thing to do is pull out the heat element from the back and install a new one. go on line and put the make and model, and serial number of the stove and order it online. If you order it locally it will be about $17.00 more
