Can you tell me why, how, where and when? I thought we were attacked on 9/11 by orders of Osoma bin Laden. He thinks he ordered the attack as well.

Only the really stupid believe Iraq had some responsibility.
Iraq posed no threat to the US.
No Navy.
No Air Force.
No WMDs.
A Republican (sic) Army unable to protect the nation against an announced attack.
No reason for Bush to start an illegal war on a sovereign nation except revenge or oil.

Bush had planned to try this one and all alongside. We used the panic after 9/11 to make palatable the concept of attacking a gently defended united states of america that surpassed off to be sitting on suitable of the worlds 2d greatest petrolium reserves. triggered by ability of Neo Conservative thinkers at the same time with Wolfowitz, Libby, vice chairman Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Richard Pearle the alternative grew to become into made to drum up a faux justification and scare the congress and domicile into giving super determination on conflict powers. The Neo Conservative doctrine suggested as the undertaking for a clean American Century laid down a stratege for becoming US friendly democracies in center East - fairly the place there is oil to be chanced on. WE had no ethical justification for this invasion and profession. final observe; Jeffrey's : Do you surely think of Iraq had something to do with 9/11? Why? artwork at domicile: it truly is real. there is no longer a shred of info linking Iraq and 9/11 - different than on your recommendations. call calling won't alter that. Even Bush and Rumsfeld admitted there is not any connection between the two. i think you recognize greater advantageous than they do?

You seem to be somewhat confused. Iraq did not attack the United States on 9/11. As you well know, terrorists affiliated with the group AL Qaida carried out that attack.
Iraq has become a battle ground with al Qaida, but that's not why we invaded Iraq. We attacked basically because the former government under Saddam had failed to follow the cease-fire agreement they signed at the end of the first Gulf War in 1991. After 12 years and numerous UNITED NATIONS resolutions it became clear that it was time to force the issue.
Saddam's involvement in supporting terrorism - $25,000 payments to suicide bomber's families, providing advanced training and medical facilities, providing a 'safe haven' for terrorists to 'retire' to - were some of the reasons for our invasion.
After the quick defeat of the regular Iraqi armed forces an insurgency formed comprised, at the time, of mainly former Revolutionary Guard troops and the fedayeen (sic), a special non-regular force of fanatics loyal to Saddam. While these forces also proved no match for the Coalition forces they provided the opportunity for al Qaida to infiltrate fighters into the country.
We have been fighting 'al Qaida in Iraq' for most of the last 3 years and Iraq has become, in the words of the leaders of al Qaida, the main battle ground between their forces and the U.S. and her allies.

I cannot and will NEVER understand War. My Dad used to work over in Baghdad years ago and the photos he has of his time there are amazing. It is such a shame that such a beautiful place has been ruined. I understand that the concept of War is more complicated than my small mind can take but I will never ever understand it or agree with it. I think in some way we are ALL to blame, no matter what race or what religion!

Iraq started the war when they invaded Kuwait. There was no formal ending to the Gulf War; only a cease-fire with conditions. We went into Afghanistan because its ruling party (the Taliban) was harboring Al Qaeda who was responsible for 9/11. Why do liberals always get Iraq and Afghanistan confused?

"THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials."

"Reading from a declassified portion of a report by the National Ground Intelligence Center, a Defense Department intelligence unit, Santorum said: "Since 2003, coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent."

Saddam training al-Qaeda. Finding Saryn gas containers. Wow, I am glad Iraq was a peaceful country under Saddam.

But the only problem now is we are fighting the war in a political correct way instead of a militaristic way. We are too worried about being the world's best friend instead of being the once great, vigilant nation that did not bend over backwards for anyone or anything.

well, our main stream media, "The Fourth Estate", upon which our Founding Fathers so depended to reveal wrong doing and corruption to the American citizenry and keep the government honest failed miserably in the run up to the war on Iraq. the MSM has become the neoCONS propaganda machine spewing out whatever justifying talking points the DC Beltway warmongers desire. and we Americans have become complacent, lazy, dumbed down and easy led by bumper sticker slogans, bogey men in effigy and generalized hatreds. our misdirected angst is causing unmeasured suffering. i've been ashamed to be an American for the past 6 1/2 years. will this nightmare never end?

PS. the neoCONNED still yapping about WMDs apparently fail to remember that the UN weapons inspectors were in the process of confirming that Saddam's WMD arsenal and capabilities were defunct but GW refused to allow them to finish their job and rushed to "Shock and Awe" Iraq on flimsy cherry picked intelligence info. the NeoCONNED fool no one but themselves.

I always get a kick out of republicans talking about how important it was that we punish Iraq for violating UN resolutions. These same republicans are always bad-talking it and calling for us to withdraw from the UN, but when they can use it to justify a war that they want to start then they're willing to use and abuse it. They even considered painting a drone airplane UN blue and getting the Iraqis to shoot it down as some sort of Tonkin Gulf recreation over the desert. You don't hear any of them calling for war against Israel for all of the UN resolutions condemning its treatment of the Palistinians.

Saddam was in violation of UN Resolution 1441. He had every opportunity to come clean about his WMD program and chose not to. He played a cat and mouse game with the inspectors while the world watched.

Now he is dead and his people have a real shot at a democratic form of government.

At no time ever did George W. Bush pin the blame of 9/11 on Iraq. Never - not once!

He said they were part of the larger war on terror. They were.

Bush the Evil Troll decided that since War was to make some profit to the country, it would have to benefit his mates at the head of big american oil companies and used the religious card to invade Iraq and bring down a big competitor
