It is kind of odd, in my opinion. It is a cross between small town living and living in a college town. If you are into the college scene, there is almost always something going on and you can have a lot of fun. I was pretty anti-social back when I spent time there, so I was pretty bored for the most part. There are a bunch of antique stores and such, which I enjoy a lot, now that I am older and more mature. One of my co-workers lives down there, even though he has to drive over an hour each way to and from work every day.

So, I will say that it is definitely different. I've never seen any place quite like it. It has a quiet, relaxed pace to it and it also has a decent and active social scene. It is not for me, but a lot of people like it. It does have the advantage of having easy access to the Richmond/Petersburg area.

Good luck!

Farmville is on the outskirts of Richmond real close to I-95, close to DC also, 2 hours South to VA Beach, an hour to Williamsburg. So you have small town living close to the city and close access to everything else.

i'd say 1GB internet utilization over a 30 day era would be minimum for purely finding the internet and making use of facebook. YouTube video clips and pictures on a internet internet site all devour up you allowance.
