Oh, about 22 - when I was in Vietnam in 1965. But that's not ALL the story.
I started believing in God again about 20 years after that, after years of boozing/drugs and the occasional suicide attempt.
Why? Well, mainly because those experiences in Vietnam had had enough time to stop being just bad memories and had started to actually teach me something.
Like what? Glad you asked. For one thing, I began to see how everyone and everything are connected, joined together in a vast web of life. I started to understand that when you hurt another, you hurt yourself as well, and when you help someone else, you are also helped.
From there, it wasn't much of a leap to figuring that, since we're all so connected, then there must be something beyond what I can apprehend with only my senses.
So I'd suggest that you be a little less sure of just what "the truth" may be.
What was "true" for me at 22 has turned out to be very different from what"s true for me now.

I am 52 years old..god,I called him out with a baseball bat when I was 25 years old after much fun at my expense,he/she didn't turn up..so I figured we had an agreement..still applies...We all find out in the end..so what does it matter? Whether god is a tool of the masses or a mass of a tool is of no consequence to me.Being dealt bad hands and blaming the dealer is a particularly human attribute..Sounds like revenge doesn't it? A mote in god's eye ? Be yourself.

"in my view, i wouldn't in any respect ask for forgiveness for a life-time of being incorrect. It grew to become into him afterall that gave me the intelligence and logical sense to be sure regardless of if he did exist. i'd actual blame him for no longer exhibiting me significant adequate signs and warning signs to have faith in him (sorry yet on the instant's loopy monks and a 2 thousand 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous e book written by ability of greater loopy monks isn't that significant info i'm finding for)." comparable right here.....

Congratulations. You have grown up and left the "Paradise" of childhood. I wasn't as young as you, you are lucky because of that. Now, instead of being a mindless sheep, you have the opportunity of creating a true meaning for your life. Remember, when you are criticized for your choices, that Life is change. And those who have chosen to stagnate and be obedient servants cannot ever understand your choice. So don't waste too much time on them.

I wasn't taught to believe in god and was encouraged to ask questions. So I have never believed. Consequently, it is sometimes difficult for me to fully understand the mind of a believer, except form the perspective of fear. I guess you had to be raised that way.

Wow. Aren't you a pleasant soul...
God in the Christian sense may (or may not) have a second coming, etc...
But God is real - God, as goodness, kindness, believing in your Self, growing as a person. God is everywhere - hope and faith is abound. Positivity can be found even in the darkest places.
I believe Jesus was real, an a kind and amazing person. We revere him and the work he's done not necessarily because of his holy status, but because of the hope he brings into our lives.
I think the only failing of Christianity is that they assume God is outside us, when God is within us. We create the changes in our life. Having faith helps, but we need to take the steps towards happiness, and away from evil.

Don't remember the exact age. I believe it was gradual, as I began to gain experience in life, and wasn't afraid to question things that were taken for granted. I was at a point where I believed god did not exist, but I found I could not prove a negative, so the natural inclination was to settle on being agnostic.

I am 60 and I still don't know that God isn't real. His reality becomes more apparent to me with each passing year. His guidance of my life shows with my maturity and my compassion for those less fortunate than myself. I see it whenever I hear of someone who does something exceptional for someone else. God's love is never ending. It is too bad you do not have faith. Sometimes we just have to believe in something we cannot see.

I believe everyone has a right to their own opinion but to believe that God is not real just throws me for a loop. He is everywhere, He is the love in your heart for your family, friends and fellowman. He is the Sun and the Moon. He is every sunny, rainy and snowy day.
What about the Devil, he is the one guiding you and your family, you better start praying for forgiveness.
