I am currently on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. While in my OBGYN's office I was reading up on the new Essure as opposed to tubal ligation as a permanent birth control. Are you using this method or know anyone who has? What was their experience?

thank you :-)

Mirena would probably be my other choice.

Essure is a very recent development, and basically it relies on the body creating massive amounts of scar tissue in the fallopian tubes to obstruct them. Scar tissue created by those little "coils" inserted into them....kind of makes me wonder where else those little darlins might also encourage the build up of scar tissue...personally, I'd wait to see more results of this procedure in the general populace before I'd be willing to risk it myself.

I went to my Dr after researching Essure and really wanted it done. My Dr talked me out of Essure and into the Mirena IUD. I have had it for a year now and love it.

Good luck with your choice.
