it is NOT a good idea to wait....that infection could spread pretty quickly to your kidneys and then you are in a real fix. I'd call the doctor today, explain that you have a bladder infection, and ask that he order some antibiotics for you, you will follow up with him on Friday during your appt. Most doctors are willing to do this.

I left my uti for two weeks before going to a doctor (bad move) but I was fine after the antibiotics. I would recommend drinking loads of cranberry juice or some cysitis medicine from your pharmacy. Theres three I think, cystopurin, cylmon (i think) and canesten. They really help the symptoms. But if theres blood in the urine you have a more severe infection so still go to the doctor and get the antibiotics. Good luck :D

I'm just coming of antibiotics from a UTI now. I got mine on a tuesday and drank loads of water and cranberry juice and saw my doctor on friday and i was fine. But it was really painful waiting out and i wish i had just gone earlier to get the treatment.. Save yourself a lot of pain and grief.. especially if your urinating spots of blood! Ring up your doctors and ask to be scheduled for tomorrow and if they don't tell them that you have a UTI and are in a lot of pain and bleeding etc, I'm sure they'll squeeze you in.

I would call the doctor's nurse TODAY, explain your situation, and 9 times out of 10, they will start you on antibiotics early before your doctor's appointment. OR, you may get lucky and get into the doctor today, but I would NOT WAIT. It is extremely painful, and your infection can spread. Drink LOTS and LOTS of water and also cranberry juice to help flush your system out. Pharmacy's also have an over the counter cranberry supplement that is suppsed to help.

I wouldn't wait until Friday. Every hour you wait, bacteria are replicating in your bladder. Since you have blood, it is already a serious infection, not to mention painful. If you have any back pain, seriously consider going to a mediclinic which can see you right away. If you wait too long, the bacteria can enter the kidneys and cause sepsis which would land you in the hospital. It will also take you much longer to get over the infection.

Yes, you'll be fine. Drink more water than normal (64 oz or more) and one glass of pure cranberry juice a day. Also, avoid caffiene in the meantime. I used to have frequent UTIs. Friday should be fine if you sent this today.
