Harry Burns: With whom did you have this great sex?
Sally Albright: I'm not going to tell you that.
Harry Burns: Fine, don't tell me.
Sally Albright: Shel Gordon.
Harry Burns: Shel? Sheldon? No, no, you did not have great sex with Sheldon.
Sally Albright: I did too.
Harry Burns: No you didn't. A Sheldon can do your income taxes, if you need a root canal, Sheldon's your man... but humpin' and pumpin' is not Sheldon's strong suit. It's the name. 'Do it to me Sheldon, you're an animal Sheldon, ride me big Shel-don.' Doesn't work.

I don't know about the Shia part but that last name is another variation of a french name that is very common where I live. It is usually spelled either Leboeuf, Lebouf, Leboufe, or Lebuf.
.
All are a variation of the french words "le boeuf" which means "the beef". So you can put your own spin on it then. He's not so beefy is he?

La Boeuf means beef in French.....that's sort of masculine. But the first name Shia?? I guess if I were being shallow I wouldn't but I could get past it if he were a great guy. He ddn't have any choice in getting his name

It's a weird name, but it is also Labeouf, not two parts.
I would never date anyone because of their name...nor would I not date anyone because of their name...unless, of course his name was Doris.
:-)
