I asked the following question yesterday and only one person answered. Can someone answer this for me:

Can chickens get cancer? What about cows? and fish? If so, what happens when a human eats an animal that has cancer cells throughout their body?

My guess is that no one is answering your question because we do not know. I would assume they can get cancer, but I am not sure. I also have no idea what happens when a human eats an animal with cancer. I would say nothing, but again I really don't know.

I don't know if chickens can get cancer, cows or fish you certainly don't hear about it and if you eat an animal with cancer then I doubt anything would happen to you. After all, we probably have already eaten cancer inflicted animals, I hope not. Hopefully they died.

Squamous cell carcinoma, a common human skin cancer, has been diagnosed in chickens and other free-ranging birds. What's worse is that 70 percent of chickens in the U.S. are fed arsenic (to promote growth, stave off disease, etc.)

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, long-term exposure to inorganic arsenic can cause bladder, lung, skin, kidney, and colon cancer. Low-level exposures can lead to partial paralysis and diabetes.

Now supposedly, UK scientists have developed genetically modified chickens capable of laying eggs containing proteins needed to make cancer-fighting drugs.

Mutant chickens that fight cancer...
Now I feel safe...

Let's all thank the FDA, Pharmaceutical companies, US health care system, Fast food industry, and Fox News for the blissful ignorance that we as Americans enjoy!

I would think all animals can get cancer. I know of dogs and cats that have, so why not others? I don't know about eating one that has it though. Very good question! Maybe ask it in one of the medical rooms!

don't know about animals, would imagine they could. I DO know that all of us have cancer cells in our bodies, but it
don't mean nothin unless they become active. To my
knowledge, I haven't heard of any cancer type that's contagious.

umm., I don't know if they do...and I'm not sure if it is congenital( if thats the term) ...but I think it is not safe to eat that kind of chickens and cow., because they are double dead and had gained germs for the first time what if it will be done again....its like the mud cow disease and the bird flu case...hope I had helped...=)

im vegetarian. I am more scared of the chemicals that they feed the chicken so that it'll grow bigger and faster may cause cancer to humans.
